ROC Reno to Vegas May 19, 2018
Back again for 2018 was Raptor Off-Road Community's (ROC) Silver State Run. This was a three day trip from Reno to Las Vegas, NV, which covered over 500 miles of desert trail. Starting from Carson City's Johnson Lane, 26 trucks hit the dirt under beautiful cloudy skies. We stopped at the Poinsettia Mine, which is a small mercury mining camp tucked away in a bowl-shaped canyon that is now maintained by a Boy Scout troop from Hawthorne, NV. Continuing to Tonopah to wrap-up the day, we were engulfed by thunderstorms and had to wade through flash-floods on the trail. The next day, the group got to hit some nice jumps and stop in the cool little town of Gold Point, where I did a mock impromptu photo shoot for http://atturo.com/. The weather was perfect, and we ended the day with our usual dry lake bed action before arriving in Las Vegas. For more info on ROC, visit the website: http://www.raddrives.com/offroad-runs/
